About
Lactation Consultant
Magdalena Arciszewska graduated with a B.Sc in nursing from McGill University and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
She also received her B.Sc in Immunology at McMaster University in 1996, her Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation in 2015 and the Canadian Nursing Association Specialty Certification in Perinatal Nursing in 2019. She’s been working for over 23 years in Women’s Health at the Royal Victoria Hospital as a labour and delivery nurse.
She mostly works with individuals or couples during the perinatal period.
With her high sense of empathy and adaptability, her communication skills and her critical thinking, Magdalena navigates brilliantly the politics of choice while making sure that parents are making an informed decision. She’s aware that support in the breastfeeding journey is poor, inconsistent or sometimes non-existent. Her goal at the clinic is to make that change so every mom and family who wish to start on this path can do so with proper care, tips and technics.
What she loves the most about her job is the unspeakable sense of satisfaction and gratitude she gets at having the privilege to be present during such a vulnerable and powerful moment in families’ lives while being able to help parents meet their breastfeeding goals.
