Optimize your recovery with oncology rehabilitation at Kinatex

At Kinatex, we understand that each person living with cancer faces unique challenges. That’s why we’ve created an oncology rehabilitation program to help overcome the side effects of treatments and regain physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. This program alleviates symptoms such as fatigue, pain, muscle weakness, and mobility restrictions.

Our interdisciplinary team of oncology rehabilitation experts (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, and nutritionists) works with you and your oncologist to develop a personalized plan. We help you improve your mobility, strength, and quality of life, whether you’re in treatment or remission.

During your first session, a comprehensive assessment will allow us to design a tailored plan, including exercises, energy management techniques, and interventions for lymphedema management.

A variety of symptoms

Our oncology rehabilitation program is designed to address a variety of symptoms caused by cancer and its treatments:

  • Fatigue and Weakness: Cancer patients often suffer from chronic fatigue. We help restore your energy through tailored exercises and energy management techniques.
  • Pain and Mobility Restrictions: Muscle pain, postural restrictions, and scar tissue can affect your movement. We use techniques such as myofascial release and tissue mobilization to restore your flexibility.
  • Lymphedema: Following certain surgeries or treatments, the risk of lymphedema increases. Our experts provide manual lymphatic drainage therapy to manage and prevent swelling.
  • Cognitive Impairments: Known as “chemofog”, cognitive impairments affect many patients undergoing treatment. Our occupational therapists help improve cognitive abilities and support a gradual return to daily activities.

Our program is tailored to your needs and evolves throughout your rehabilitation. Each plan is unique and may include interventions such as desensitization exercises, energy conservation techniques, or nutritional guidance to optimize your recovery. Our goal is to equip you with the tools necessary to regain your independence and achieve an optimal quality of life.

Partnerships and support

We collaborate with organizations such as the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation to provide additional resources for our patients. Our experts work closely with your oncologist to ensure consistent and comprehensive care.
